Bolivia, Montero—Week 9

Dear Family and Friends,

I’ve been a little bit sick this week, so we didn’t get as much done as usual. On Wednesday, we didn’t leave the house and Thursday, right after our zone meeting, we left for Santa Cruz to go to the Foianini. Woohoo. We waited for a long time and they said I have a stomach infection, so they gave me some antibiotics.

Teaching
We have been working with the Familia “D.” They are doing well, but they need a lot of reminders to read their scriptures and say their prayers. I know they will get the hang of it.

Familia “B”The Hermana is great. She has such a strong testimony, but her husband is holding her back. He has an addiction and doesn’t want to give it up. I hope we can help them.

“F” told us (not so directly) to not come back. We will still try to talk to her daughters, but she doesn’t want anything to do with us anymore. Maybe in the future she’ll be prepared to listen.

We were so happy to see the father of the “A” Family at Church! He was going to be baptized with them a year ago, but he works a lot and is never here on Sunday. But today he came to Church! Hopefully he can begin to see the blessings that come from obeying the commandments.

Some things I love about Bolivia:
1.   The People. They all have their very own talents and characters.
2.   The crazy rumors and health cures . . .
. . . If you sleep with the fans on, your bones will hurt
. . . If you eat green mangos, a “pychichi” (a big zit kind of thing) will form
. . . If you drink or eat anything cold, even in the summer, you will get a cold
. . . If you have a stye in your eye, put a hot spoon or a warm egg, freshly laid, on your eye

Until next week,

XOXO Hermana Nelson
